R. Franklin James grew up in THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, graduated from UC Berkeley, and flourished in a career of public policy and political advocacy. In 2013, the first book in her five- star Hollis Morgan Mystery Series, The Fallen Angels Book Club, was published by Camel Press. Her first book in the Remy Loh Bishop series, The Appraiser was published in 2019. The Inheritance, the first book in her Johanna Hudson series will be released in April 2021. James resides in northern California with her husband.

R. Franklin James grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and flourished in a career of public policy and political advocacy. She was appointed to Deputy Mayor for the City of Los Angeles at the time of the worst earthquake in the city’s history.

Her starred Hollis Morgan Mystery Series, beginning with The Fallen Angels Book Club, was published by Camel Press. In 2020 the series was optioned for a movie by a Canadian film studio. She went on to write The Appraiser the first book in her Remy Loh Bishop Mysteries and in April 2021, the first book in her Johanna Hudson Mysteries will be released. James resides in northern California with her husband and a yard full of hummingbirds.
