The best Christian inspirational books of our time

Why am I passionate about this?

I was elated to be named “Top Inspirational Author of the Year” for 2022 by the International Association of Top Professionals. Inspiration is central to my career as a mentor, life coach, counselor, and author. I have possessed a deep interest in both Christianity and psychology since a young age. I have tied both topics in my own books, as I believe the knowledge I have gained has helped me find the joy, peace, and fulfillment I feel each day. This great sense of fulfillment and purpose is something I hope everyone can find in their lifetime, which motivates me to write about the power of faith in my books.

What is my book about?

Growing up in the shadow of two NFL-destined cousins, Chris Dunkin has high hopes for his own future in football. However, a drug addiction threatens to destroy everything he has worked hard to attain. When Chris meets Courtney Angeletti—the mayor's straightedge Christian daughter—he believes she could be the source of inspiration he needs to overcome his destructive lifestyle.

Courtney, however, has other ideas. The desire to rebel has been tugging on Courtney's heartstrings for some time, and Chris's "bad-boy" reputation draws her to him like a moth to a flame. After all, he is a central part of the most popular clique in her high school. Will Chris pull Courtney away from her faith or will Courtney inspire him to overcome his rebellious lifestyle?

Book cover of The Screwtape Letters

Stacy A. Padula Why did I love this book?

The Screwtape Letters offers life-changing insight into human thought, misplaced emotions, temptations, and spiritual warfare. This book taught me the importance of living in the present and focusing on whatever is real. It enriched my life more than any other book aside from the Bible. I have enjoyed reading it multiple times and teaching Bible studies on its brilliant messages. Every time I read this masterful novel by C.S. Lewis, I gain wisdom and perspective that positively impacts my mindset. It is the most spiritually freeing and deeply insightful book I have read—a 5-star read from cover to cover.

On its first appearance, The Screwtape Letters was immediately recognized as a milestone in the history of popular theology. Now, in it's 70th Anniversary Year, and having sold over half a million copies, it is an iconic classic on spiritual warfare and the power of the devil.

This profound and striking narrative takes the form of a series of letters from Screwtape, a devil high in the Infernal Civil Service, to his nephew Wormwood, a junior colleague engaged in his first mission on earth trying to secure the damnation of a young man who has just become a Christian. Although…

This book is now added to my short list of favorites. I believe it is a book for everyone. It is full of factual, logical evidence that explains the reasons why Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection are irrefutable. It is well written and not at all pushy. I have recommended this book on personality types to numerous friends, family members, and professionals over the years. What is this book about?

*The original book behind the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (R) (MBTI (R)) test*

Like a thumbprint, personality type provides an instant snapshot of a person's uniqueness. Drawing on concepts originated by Carl Jung, this book distinguishes four categories of personality styles and shows how these qualities determine the way you perceive the world and come to conclusions about what you've seen. It then explains what they mean for your success in school, at a job, in a career and in your personal relationships.

For more than 60 years, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) tool has been the most widely used instrument…

Stacy A. Padula Why did I love this book?

The Case for Christ is a great reference book for historical facts that demonstrate proof of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I recommend this to skeptics and those who are looking to back up their Christian faith with real-life evidence and historical knowledge. This book is an asset to all libraries, churches, and Christian schools, as it provides irrefutable evidence that Jesus is who the Bible says He is. It is smart, thought-provoking, and life-changing. Book cover of The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts

Stacy A. Padula Why did I love this book?

I received The Five Love Languages as a wedding present and found it quite insightful. My husband and I do not share a love language, so this has helped me understand ways to better express my love (in ways he will feel it). While I feel loved through words of affirmation, he feels loved through quality time. While he expresses love through acts of service, I express love through gift-giving and physical touch. I highly recommend this book to couples who would like to gain a better understanding of their spouse, as well as their own inner desires and needs.

New book alert!

Why am I passionate about this?

My book recommendations reflect an abiding passion for Japanese literature, which has unquestionably influenced my own writing. My latest literary interest involves Japanese poetry—I’ve recently started a project that combines haiku and prose narration to describe my experiences as a part-time resident in a 1300-year-old Japanese hot spring town that Bashō helped make famous in The Narrow Road to the Deep North. But as a writer, my main focus remains novels. In late 2023 the second in a planned series of novels set in Ishikawa prefecture will be published. I currently live in Kanazawa, but have also been lucky to call Sapporo, Akita, Tokyo, and Fukui home at different times.
