Why read it?

3 authors picked Yours Truly as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

This book broke my heart and stitched it back together. Abby Jimenez's writing style is magnetic, and her characters make me laugh and cry in equal amounts. Every time I need a pick-me-up, I pull out this book.

There are few perfect romantic comedies out there. Some have third-act breakups that don’t make sense. Some are riddled with miscommunication or surprise baby tropes that have a person feeling all the ick. This is not that book. Does it have miscommunication? Yes, in a reasonable, wonderful kind of way. Does it have a surprise baby? Yes! In a way that deepens…

This is Abby’s best book yet in my opinion.

I laughed out loud and cried real tears. Bad first impressions, secrets, and So. Much. Pining. I loved Brianna and Jacob’s love story fiercely through all its ups and downs. The audiobook is chef’s kiss good. As to Jacob’s hand-flex vibe—it reverberates throughout.

He woos her with letters, y’all! I mean… He goes even further with the Darcy vibe by performing a service (no spoilers) for her family that literally can’t be repaid, and he doesn’t want anyone to know about it. This book was my top read of 2023.

They say books are a window or a mirror—they show you something new or they reflect something within yourself. For me, this book is a mirror.

As always, Abby Jimenez’s quirky, laugh-out-loud writing style sets the tone for the story, but what I love most about Yours Truly is the deeper, more meaningful sub-context and subject matter.

So, here’s where the mirror comes in: I have social anxiety. Crowds and new situations make me break out in hives. Literally.

In this story, Dr. Jacob Maddox suffers from social anxiety too, and when he sits in a parking lot for twenty…

A story you'll never forget about survival, forgiveness, healing, and love.

Twenty years ago. A plane crash. Three women survivors are inexorably connected by fate, destiny, and a cause.

Julie Geiger, a flight attendant, told five sets of parents to place their babies on the floor of the plane when it was going down. Now, she must live with the consequences. Will changing the emergency rules bring her healing and forgiveness? And where does love fit into her life now?

Marie Stanley lost her baby boy on that flight. And she knows exactly who to blame. Julie. The problem is that vindictiveness festers. And eats into your soul. How will Marie learn to move past her hate and save her marriage in the process?

Paige Montgomery, the lap baby who survived the flight, would love to forget it ever happened. After all, she’s happy. And she’s on the cusp of a new relationship. How will she learn to forge her own path, one that integrates all the elements of her past, including the crash, the loss of her parents, and her subsequent adoption?

What is this book about?

Did you know that lap babies (children under the age of two) are instructed to be placed on the floor of a plane during an emergency? Sounds crazy, but it’s true.

Julie Geiger, a flight attendant, told five sets of parents to do just that. Now she must live with the consequences. Will changing the rules bring her healing and forgiveness? And where does love fit into her life now?
